Administrator
Gloria Di Nuzzo
Gloria Di Nuzzo has been the Executive Director of
Alden’s Group Homes for the Developmentally Disabled – Alden of Old Town
East, Alden of Old Town West, Alden Springs and Alden Trails – since January
2011. She started with Alden as Facility Manager at Alden of Old Town West
in 2008 before becoming Resident Service Director of Alden’s four group
homes for the developmentally disabled. Gloria has management, counseling
and social service experience. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and
sociology
from Dominican University in River Forest and a master’s degree in Human
Services/Counseling from National-Louis University in Lisle. Gloria is a
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Illinois and has a sanitation
certificate.
Resident Services Director
Mary Ellen Schweitzer
MaryEllen Schweitzer joined Alden Springs as Facility Manager when the
building opened in October 2006. She was promoted to Resident Services
Director in July 2008. MaryEllen is responsible for supervising the daily
operations of Alden Springs, completing case management duties and ensuring
that all residents’ needs are met. She also assists with staff training and
resident services and activities at Alden of Old Town East, Alden of Old
Town West, Alden Springs and Alden Trails. MaryEllen serves as the co-chair
of the Alden Special Olympics team. In 2008, she was honored as a ‘Hero in
Long Term Care’ by the Illinois Health Care Association for her ‘heart of
gold and willingness to always go the extra mile for residents.’ MaryEllen
has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Iowa in Iowa City
and recently earned an Illinois Food Service Sanitation Manager certificate.
